The Department includes Divisions dedicated to the generation of diagnostic images and to cancer therapies using ionizing radiation, which are controlled and monitored by the Health Physics Unit. IEO Radiotherapy Division is among the top 10 in the world for treatment, research and technology and thanks the recent opening of the IEO Proton Center, directly connected to the Radiotherapy Division, IEO offers the most advanced radiotherapy treatments for patients.
